Your Retreat Packing List

Everything you need for travel, fun, daily practice, and those magical moments.

Hey beautiful soul!

So you're booked and ready to go? I'm honestly so excited for you! There's something absolutely magical about practicing yoga with an incredible destination as your backdrop, and I want to make sure you're perfectly prepared for every moment.

I've been leading retreats for years now, and I've learned (sometimes the hard way!) exactly what you need and what you can leave at home. This list comes from real experience - from sunrise flows on Santorini cliffs to sunset meditations on Panamanian beaches, and yes, even from that time I forgot my yoga blocks and had to get creative with Moroccan pottery (it worked, but I don't recommend it).

Whether you're island hopping between two gems or settling into one perfect spot, this list will have you covered for everything from morning practice to evening adventures. Let's dive in!

My Favorite Travel Essentials

  • Travel yoga mat - I swear by the Manduka Travel Mat - it's been with me to 10+ countries. It rolls, it folds, it’s washable, and your hands and feet actually grip to it.

  • Yoga blocks (1-2) - Cork blocks are my favorite - lightweight and they don’t smell after using them for years. If luggage space doesn’t allow for two, bring one.

  • Yoga strap - We use a strap in almost every practice. As a bonus, you can loop it twice to serve as a yoga mat carrier!

  • Yoga towel - Microfiber, quick-dry - essential for those seaside sessions. Nomadix has my fav designs and quality. Also doubles as a great beach towel!

  • Swimsuits - YouSwim makes the best bathing suits I’ve ever come across. They sell just a few styles, in only a couple of sizes that will fit literally anyBODY, and their color selection is out of this world. I have two. Save $15 with this link.

  • Beach cover-ups (2-3) - Lightweight kaftans work for beach and lunch

  • Quick-dry beach towel - The Nomadix is my go-to, or a handmade Turkish towel.

  • Good sunscreen - SPF 30+, because your skin is your best asset

  • After-sun aloe gel - Your skin will thank you

  • Waterproof phone case - The Pelican Marine case has never let me down

  • Water shoes - beaches can be rocky - these are lifesavers, lots of colors to choose from

  • Waterproof beach bag - For wet swimsuits and sandy towels - in this set, you get a big one and a small one in a variety of cute designs

  • Comfortable walking shoes - Y’all know I’m a birkenstock girlie! Get the plastic ones to avoid the break-in blisters.

  • Flip-flops - For quick beach trips and hotel rooms

  • Leather belt/cross body bag - This Ethiopian leather gem even has a zipper pouch AND credit card pockets!

  • Reusable water bottle - The baby Nalgene is my one true love because it’s cute, small, and dishwasher safe

  • Power bank - Because we can send Katy Perry to space but we can’t make a phone battery last more than a few hours. This one is compact and cute, and it’ll charge your phone or anything USB/USB C

  • Flowy sundresses (2-3) - Wrinkle-resistant fabrics are your friend

  • Nice sandals with support - For when walking on uneven surfaces, but you want to look nice doing it

  • Cute stash house for your jewels - I love traveling with a literal jewelry box - place it on the dresser in your room and you’ll smile every time you see it

  • Moisture-wicking underwear - Huha makes the best undies ever. Hands down, a beyond wise investment for your vag.

  • Sports bras, shorts, yoga pants - Vuori is my go-to for all athleisure clothing

  • Wide-brimmed hat - Packable ones are genius. A cotton bucket hat or rollable Panama hat is your friend!

  • Quality sunglasses - With UV protection

  • Travel-size toiletries - These aren’t really a big deal for me, as I like to buy local stuff from grocery stores and pharmacies when I arrive. But if you have the time and space to bring with, not a bad idea!

  • Roll-on perfume by Maison Marie Louis - I wear No 4 (Bois de Balencourt) and I swear its my favorite scent ever. But they have 9 scents you can choose from, all of which are a great value for money!

  • Prescription medications - Bring extra, just in case

  • Natural insect repellent - Evening mosquitoes are real

  • Universal adapter - My fav connects you anywhere

  • Good headphones - For meditation apps and travel playlists

  • CampSnap Camera - Analog camera with digital capabilities to keep you off your phone but capturing memories

  • Small speaker - Keep your playlist ON in your room

Listen, my dear traveler, this isn't just about having the right stuff - it's about being prepared so you can fully surrender to the magic that awaits you. When you're not worried about forgotten essentials, you can focus on what really matters: those breathtaking sunrise practices, the laughter shared over long dinners, and the way the sunset light makes everything look like a postcard.

I've watched so many beautiful souls transform on these trips, and I want that for you too. Pack mindfully, travel lightly, and get ready for an experience that will stay with you long after you return home.

Safe travels and namaste, Jade ✨
