Lisbon
Unwind in Lisbon: A Soulful Escape for the Modern Woman
Lisbon is one of those rare cities that manages to feel both wildly alive and deeply restful, and this five-night escape has been designed to let you experience every gorgeous layer of it. Wake each morning to golden Portuguese light flooding through your boutique hotel window, exposed stone walls and hand-painted tiles setting the most perfect scene, before easing into a grounding yoga practice as the city slowly stirs around you. Breakfast is a leisurely, sun-soaked affair of fresh pastéis, local cheeses, and strong coffee before your day opens up into something wonderful.
By day, your Lisbon will be a sensory feast. Wander the ancient, cobblestoned streets of Alfama & Chiado, lose yourself in the haunting beauty of a live Fado performance, and get your body in check with a luxurious massage in the hotel spa. Day trips take you beyond the city limits to the fairy-tale palaces of Sintra and the sun-drenched vineyards nearby, where the wine is poured generously and the views go on forever. Evenings invite intimate local wine tastings featuring the velvety reds and crisp whites of Portugal's most celebrated regions, paired with good food, great conversation, and the kind of slow, unhurried joy that is simply impossible to rush.
Your home base throughout is a carefully curated boutique hotel that feels like a love letter to Lisbon itself, with rooftop views over a sea of terracotta rooftops and every detail chosen with intention. Rest, culture, community, and the gentle reminder that you deserve to travel beautifully.
Where we’re going
Our Lisbon adventure begins in the Chiado, one of the city's most beloved and storied neighborhoods, where a local guide leads us through tree-lined squares, independent bookshops, and centuries of Portuguese artistic and literary history. This is Lisbon at its most charming and walkable, and the perfect introduction to the rhythm and soul of the city before we dive deeper.
From there, we venture out of the city for a magical day trip to Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage village tucked into the misty hills just outside Lisbon, where colorful palaces, ancient walls and architecture make you feel like you've wandered straight into a storybook. We round out the day with a visit to a nearby winery, where you'll taste some of the region's finest wines with the kind of backdrop that makes every sip taste better.
Back in the heart of Lisbon, the experiences just keep getting better. We'll settle in for an authentic live Fado performance, the deeply soulful and uniquely Portuguese musical tradition that has a way of moving you even if you don't understand a single word. A hands-on Portuguese cooking class brings us into the heart of the local food culture, and privatized yoga sessions at a beautiful local studio gives us space to move, breathe, and come back to ourselves. And then there are the dinners. Long, candlelit, unhurried evenings around the table where the wine flows, the conversation gets real, and the women you arrived as strangers with somehow become the people you can't imagine not knowing. Some of the most meaningful connections on this trip are built right there, over good food and a second glass of Vinho Verde. Woven throughout the week is plenty of time for spa treatments, wandering the city's incredible shopping streets, lingering over coffee, and doing absolutely nothing at all, because rest, as it turns out, is also an itinerary item.
Daily Movement & Meditation
Wake up the right way - with a folding and unfolding. Jade will lead you through a practice designed to open your body & mind and set the tone for an awesome day. Look forward to standing sequences, opportunities to develop deeper backbends and flip your perspective, as well as plenty of groovy transitions to stretch and open parts of the body that need that extra love. Wanna sleep in instead? No shame - you do you!

I provide itineraries & need-to-know packing info a month or two in advance. You will need to download the Uber or Bolt app to get a car from the Lisbon airport or train station to the hotel on arrival day, and same for departure day. Uber is very easy to use and very inexpensive. We start things at 4pm on April 25th and end at 12pm on April 30th. I’m here to assist with any additional Portugal or EU travel needs you might have!
Lisbon Q&A
Is this a "yoga retreat"?
It is if you want it to be. I'm a yoga teacher, and I'll offer classes during the week, all of which are absolutely optional. My classes are designed to accommodate all levels of yoga practice, so whether you're brand new to yoga, "yoga-curious", or a daily practitioner, you'll be able to attend and hopefully enjoy class. If you do plan to do any yoga on the trip, you do not need to bring your own yoga mat as the studio provides them.
What are the accommodations like?
I always try to choose boutique 4+ star hotels that combine comfort with aesthetic. I look for things like comfy beds, nice bathrooms, and decent locations so we can walk to as many things as possible. Keep in mind that European hotel rooms are much smaller than American hotel rooms, and often do not have the same AC amenities as you might usually be used to. That being said, it’s my priority to find accommodations that are stylish, comfortable and reputable, while still being “off the beaten path”. Because nobody likes to be labeled a tourist.
Do I need to attend all of the included group activities?
Not at all! I have curated a trip that has a nice balance of free time and group activities. As your travel leader, I've also done a fair amount of working to scope out the area and find experiences that are both culturally connected and fun. If for any reason you decide that you'd like to opt out of a group activity, you are absolutely welcome to take some "me time".
What does a typical day look like on the trip?
Every day is different! You’ll receive both a printed and PDF version of the trip itinerary before the trip starts, so you can know in advance what each day entails. Some of the meals are included due to activities, and the first and last dinners are always included. On nights when dinner isn’t included, I’ll have a restaurant recommendation & reservation for anyone who wants to attend. During free time, you should feel free to do what you want - it’s your vacation!
What is the food like?
Breakfasts are usually continental - so think eggs, pastries, yogurt, fruit & juices. Mediterranean fare for lunches & dinners - plenty of fresh veggie options with grilled and slow roasted meats and fish to accompany them. If you’re a seafood lover, Lisbon is the place for you!
Will there be alcohol?
Yes. And you should honor your body when it comes to drinking. If you feel like you want to, go for it! If you feel like you don’t - mocktails await!
Is the water safe to drink?
Yes, and if you like bougie water - bottled water is cheap and easy to find.
Will there be wifi?
Yes, wifi is available at all accommodations.
Are there any rules?
There is only one rule: have a great vacation. Take rest & "alone time" when you need it. Enjoy getting to know some new & interesting people. Enjoy yourself!
